Headcanons & such

GENERAL
  • Sirius is bi bi bi.
  • On a less happy note, he has bipolar depression.
  • Impulsive, loyal, noble, and stupid, not necessarily in that order.
  • Puns. All of them.
  • He is very touchy feely, at least with his friends.
  • Parental abuse survivor (physical and emotional)
HOGWARTS
    • I imagine he first met James on train and somehow imprinted on him, and also somehow on that train ride there was an incident of some sort that made him question all his parents' bigoted beliefs enough that he got plopped into Gryffindor
    • He struggled really hard with unlearning problematic things, but he tried. He did well enough that it really caused problems with his parents.
    • By their fifth year at least, Sirius develops a massive crush on Remus. He's also the worst at saying so. It probably looked a little like this when he realized.
    • He briefly dates Marlene McKinnon during their fourth year.
  •

FIRST WIZARDING WAR
    • Reckless as hell, but also a surprisingly good fighter.
    • He asked the Potters to choose Peter more because he a) didn't think he'd manage to do it, b) was worried Remus might turn, c, and the most influential honestly) he didn't think Voldemort would take much of an interest in Peter because Peter wasn't really someone to catch the eye of the Dark Lord. It is one of his biggest regrets.
    • Expanding on A: During the war especially, Sirius lived in perpetual fear that blood would out and he'd turn back into a bigot and betray the Order and his dearest friends.
    • It didn't help that Regulus and Bellatrix would... "visit" on occasion, to try to convince him to switch sides.
    • Expanding on B: He loved and admired Remus deeply, yes and always. But you can love someone and know they're clever enough to catch Voldemort's eye, and also be worried that THEIR insecurities and lack of social support would make them make poor life decisions (probably exacerbated by his own fear that HE would be the one to do that.)
    • He was always terrifyingly afraid that for all he and the other Marauders had done for Remus, it wouldn't be enough to keep his friend from being isolated. In the war, the additional worry was that that isolation would make him betray them, especially with how much Remus was spending time with other werewolves.

AZKABAN
  • This. But I also think that possibly it happened with him using a rock or something to write it onto his own body, after they stopped letting him write on the walls
Friendly reminder that he went to prison around his 22/23rd birthday, shortly after losing two of his best friends, being betrayed by another, being denied the right to take care of his godson, AND having the whole Wizarding world including the man he loved think that he was the one that was the traitor.
